today is gloomy with the kind of rain that just spits at you all morning.
its better to reflect on past days.
this was taken on my friend peter's 27th birthday at a very nondescript irish pub where all the patrons were definitely above 50. not in that skeevy kind of way but in that i have nowhere to go kind of way. i hope i'll have somewhere to go when i'm 50.
michel gondry is one of my favorite directors. at the deitch gallery in nyc, he unveiled an art installation inspired by his most current film be kind rewind. the premise of both the movie and the exhibit is that anyone can be a filmmaker..as long as they have a camera and an imagination. i liked how without this explanation youd kind of be confused as to what was going on here. there i am wearing a weird lamp shade/hat and a guy sticking his head out of a vw bug without a hood. so strange.
